In February, Northern Ballet will be audio describing our children’s ballet for the first time. We will be presenting the Tortoise & the Hare at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre in Leeds with audio described performances on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 February at 2pm.
In advance, we would like to offer some free Tortoise & the Hare workshops to young people with visual impairments and/or families with an adult with a visual impairment. The workshops last 45 minutes and will include a warm up, cool down, exploration of the story and characters and opportunities for participants to develop their own creative movement.
The production is aimed at children 8 years and under and the workshops are therefore developed for children in this age group and/or their adult. The sessions are designed to be inclusive for visually impaired and non-visually impaired children to enjoy and we are able to work with mixed groups. The number of children we can work with in one group will vary depending on the children’s needs, if their adult is taking part, and if you can provide any support staff. The workshop will take place in your space, ideally a large, clean hall without carpet.
Workshops are available in January and February; we have limited availability so book now!
How to book your free workshop
Email Sam Moore on sam.moore@northernballet.com with dates and times in January and February that you could accommodate one or more workshops. You will then be sent a booking form to complete including some information about the people taking part.
